The Snow's Making Me Sappy

It’s snowing in Dallas. A rare thing, I can only remember one other snow, on Valentines Day of our first year. The ground is too warm for anything to stick, since the temperature was in the upper 70s yesterday. It’s pretty. Lot’s of stuff closed down. Diedra gets to come home from work a couple hours early. So far, no classes have been canceled. Without a fleet of plows, this usually sunny city is easily crippled. It’s making me want to go to Indiana, build a big fire in the fireplace, and sip some of Dad’s fabulous chai, and reminisce with the folks. Soon…

Darren & Caroline

Darren & Caroline
Originally uploaded by dandeelines.
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend with Darren & Caroline, who so graciously flew in from Indy. Thursday we enjoyed a traditional feast complete with turkey, California blend, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy (the pregnant woman’s fav), stuffing, cranberry jelly, cheesecake, and coffee. Friday, we painted the nursery. It looks great! Thanks so much! Friday evening we went out for dinner, and then had dessert in Reunion Tower, a Dallas skyline fixture, including a rotating lounge 50 stories up. The view was beautiful. Saturday we headed over to Fort Worth to try out some vintage Texas in Cowtown. We saw some longhorns, enjoyed Riscky’s, an old west restaurant, and we talked with the characters before they shot each other in the show. Diedra and Caroline were mesmerized by the fumes…I mean, the spray-paint artist who skillfully created Texas landscapes. Sunday included church, junk food, euchre, lots of laughs, and good conversations. Now the apartment is too quiet, as they returned to Indy on Monday. Thanks again for coming! It was so much fun!

20 Weeks

Halfway there! And feeling GRRREAT!

Well, those "oh so faint kicks" have turned into full exercise routines!!! I was even awaken by one the other night. It's fun to watch my belly move now.

The realization that there is a person inside of me is growing stronger everyday. In fact, I now often refer to myself (and baby) as "we". I find myself talking to the baby and as I was sitting on a bench today (during my walk) I said, "Well, should we go home now?"

Baby Foot

Count the Baby Toes!

The utrasonographer said, "This baby got someone's long, narrow feet!" We responded, "Yes, from both of us...and they are probably flat too!"
