I've Been Tagged

This post comes to you courtesy a tag by Caroline. I guess it's kind of like a chain letter only there is no blessing or curse at the end. However, there is accountability because you have to list the people you tagged at the end of your list.

The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you're a non-blogger, you can email them!)
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

So here are my eight things about myself/confessions:

1. Things I fully intend to do some day (Lord willing): learn to garden, sew, and play the piano; swim with dolphins; visit my pal Katy in New Zealand.

2. Things I fully intend not to do: run a marathon (or even a mini), ride carnival rides, scrapbook.

3. I have a habit of reading several books at a time, and I don’t always finish them. However, the other day, Dan made a remark about how I like to start books and that was all I needed to hear. I read the rest of one of my books that evening! But, I admit, it is still true. I like to start books. Which leads to my next point.

4. I habitually return library books late. This drives me crazy! I know that I have sworn off borrowing books from they library at least three times because of my tardiness and those stinking late fees. AND it is worse now because I check out multiple baby books for Miranda. This week I accrued: 10 books x 30 cents x 5 days late…That’s like $15.00!!! Jeepers ☺ Yup, after I pay that fine I am NEVER going to the library again... except I've already signed up for “Infant Lap Time” every Friday at 10:30am. Dan told me to just think of paying those late fees as supporting the local Public Library. I guess that’s a good thing.

5. I frequently buy the wrong items at the grocery store. Dan just laughs at me now every time I do this, but I think at first it really bothered him. Yes, I see what I need, I reach for it and somehow I get home and end up with scenarios like this: (thinking as I open the fridge) “The 2% milk has a green lid…that’s funny I have never seen 2% milk with a green lid before…WHAT?...1%.... How did that happen?!” I never intentionally buy nonfat or low fat items, but somehow they end up in our fridge. I just recently used up a can of fiesta cream of chicken soup, which I bought accidentally. I got sick of looking at it in the pantry and was desperate for some cream of chicken soup for a recipe, so I just risked it with the fiesta kind. It wasn’t too bad, just a little spicier than usual.

6. I have reoccurring nightmares about tornadoes and now, also about Miranda. The other night Dan and I were praying as we were swept up in the middle of a tornado. By the grace of God we survived that tornado and then we were knocking on doors and basement windows asking people to let us in. When they involve Miranda, usually I have left her somewhere and when I go back, she isn’t there. Or she has an identical twin and one of them is hungry, but I can’t remember which one I’ve fed. At least I haven’t had one of leaving Miranda and her twin both hungry in the middle of a tornado…Now that would be bad!

7. I have a phobia of throwing up. Which, is why I will never ride carnival rides. When I was little, I didn’t even like to hear the word. The first day of 8th grade my English teacher was explaining to the class that if they needed to throw up, not to ask her but to just leave. The bad thing was that she kept going on and on about it, telling stories, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile my anxieties were running high and finally I couldn’t take it anymore. In the middle of her rant about puke, I got up out of my seat, and ran up to her at the front of the class. She asked, “Are you going to be sick?” I said worriedly, “I don’t know”. She said, “Well, GO! GO!” So I ran to the bathroom. I didn’t get sick, but I was so embarrassed walking back into class.

8. I laugh at people when they fall down. I try to ask if they are all right first, but sometimes a little snicker comes out while I am asking, which doesn’t make it sound very sincere. I still laugh when I think about the time in college when Dan and I were on a hike and a lady’s big black dog scared another lady when it lunged at her and started barking. The lady got so scared she took off running and fell down. Comedy!

Okay, now for the lucky eight –nine for good measure (just in case there is a curse involved, then I am covered☺ I've chosen you because either: (1) I am coming out of hiding as a person who stalks your blog; (2) We can all use a little inspiration at one time or another for blogger's cramp; (3) I think you are hilarious; or (4) I need some blackmail material on you.

Bathing Beauty

We were on vacation with the whole Blosser clan last week in Virginia. A good time was had by all. There was hiking, mini golf, swimming, games, movies, good food, card making, a baby shower, a birthday party, and devos- including a special trip down memory lane with Grandpa Blosser reading out of a Bible Storybook...(and in keeping with tradition he made sure we were all listening by changing the story, the good news is that he isn't very good at lying.)

Here is Miranda lounging in the pool. Nana and I took her for her first swim. I think she enjoyed it, (meaning that she didn't cry). Thanks for the cool shades, Yoder boys!
