Miranda at the Arboretum
We had the pleasure of having Eric, Leah and Noelle come for a visit last week. It was so wonderful hanging out with them. One day we took a quick trip to the Dallas Arboretum.
A Gracious Place
We had the pleasure of having Eric, Leah and Noelle come for a visit last week. It was so wonderful hanging out with them. One day we took a quick trip to the Dallas Arboretum.
We threw a belated birthday party for Miranda while Eric and Leah were here. We thought it would be special to wait and celebrate with them. I wanted to make Miranda a Pooh cake and thankfully we had Uncle Eric to head it up, because I had never decorated a cake before. Thank you, Eric!
We got Miranda a Cabbage Patch doll for her birthday. Yes, I am partly reliving my childhood, but she likes it too, so it all works out. The doll came with the name Cheryle Caron. Now I always, changed my cabbage patch doll's names. They were always so weird...Cheryle Caron...need I say more. So before she opened it Dan and I were trying to think of a good name for her new doll. We were fully intending to change her name, but we didn't account for...Eric and Leah. They were hilarious with the "Cheryle Caron" this and "Cheryle Caron" that. So by the time they had left it had already stuck. I have to admit it is pretty funny to hear Miranda say "Chrl Crn". Try saying it without the vowels and that is how it sounds.
Miranda decided to take a break on her chair with her new doll, shoes, dress, and balloons.
You'll have to excuse the yogurt on the face. This was captured during lunch. She really puts her heart and soul into it at the end.
Miranda you light up our lives! And today we are so thankful for the precious gift you are. May your birthday ever serve as a reminder of God's goodness.
Here is the big 2 year old sitting in her brand new chair. I'll have to try to post some video of her opening her present later on. When she climbed into it she said "Comfy chair" and later "cute chair". We had a really fun morning making special pancakes and enjoying some extra time with Daddy on a day that he normally works 12 hours.
As well as her fingers. As you can see she liked the chocolate eyes and nose the best.
Wintry north, springlike south
I went in to check on Miranda while she was sitting on the potty and this is how I found her. She had Johnny's towel over her head. I asked her if she was Mary and she said, "I Mary". We used to pretend she was Mary a lot around Christmas time, so I think she must remember that.
I got Miranda to sit still long enough to french braid her hair by having her water color with daddy.
My first sewing project completed since having Johnny. I used the pattern from a new book I got- "Bend the Rules Sewing" by Amy Karol. It's such a fun book!!! Next up hopefully a quilt for Johnny and an apron for Miranda (or two :-))
